Garieston Home Farm is part of Galloway House Estate, a 600 acre wooded estate on the Galloway coast.
The farm has 180 milking cows, crossbred for hybrid vigour. The cows graze outside for around seven months of the year, with open-plan housing for the winter months, and the rotational grazing ground uses Astroturf walkways to prevent lameness.
All fields have species-rich swards and no artificial fertilisers are used on the farm.
In addition to having a productive farm, the estate has some beautiful holiday cottages which provide an opportunity for visitors to enjoy the coastal views of the stunning Galloway countryside.
